Louise Fay’s background is Paediatric Nursing, where she spent a number of years working as a Macmillan nurse for children and their families. More recently she has worked as a Mentor at a local secondary school where she and a colleague set up and ran a Mentoring Programme for students. She is a trained coach, achieving a Distinction from the Coaching Academy.
When asked why she coaches people: “I delight in helping people discover their own answers and personal insights. To see people get a glimpse of what they are truly capable of is hugely rewarding. It amazes me the capacity a person has to make a change when someone is right alongside them, cheering them on.”
Louise’s approach is always compassionate, kind, encouraging, hugely positive and very down to earth. She and her husband regularly offer support to young couples considering marriage. Louise is also a keen amateur artist, has a passion for colour, shoes and great British comedies.
James grew up in Cornwall where he developed a passion for the sea and the outdoor lifestyle. When not on the water, James is a keen guitarist. His educational background is rooted in business and marketing which gave him a real insight into how the business world works.
James’s introduction to coaching came when working within the civil service. “It was a light bulb moment for me. I was fascinated and could see how powerful and liberating this approach could be for people and how it naturally seemed to fit with my style.”
Since then James has gone on to develop his interest in the field by becoming accredited as an Executive Internal Coach within the Civil Service. He is a qualified NLP Master Practitioner and an Associate Member of the Association for Coaching.
An accredited facilitator of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers, Stefan Smart has a background in education and innovation in learning. He is a member of the Association for Coaching and the International Society for Coaching Psychology. Stefan trained as a spiritual director in the Anglican Diocese of Portsmouth and has a certificate in coaching accredited by Middlesex University and by the British Psychological Society. He has a particular interest in the relationship between coaching and cognitive behavioural therapy. As a coach, teacher and spiritual guide he longs for people to be able to freely express their unique individuality and giftings for the good of all.
Stefan is a qualified basketball referee and a professional actor. He loves going on retreats, reading historical novels and meeting new people.
